Sometimes there are moments when you see in your children the adults they'll become. A brief glimpse of something behind the features. A tilt of the head. A determined look.I was proud to attend a performance of Corey's first grade chorus this past week. They sang for a packed room filled with camera flashes and excited whispers. If he was nervous, he never said nor showed. He sang with his friends and sang from his heart.
I am reminded of how quickly time passes and how each of these moments mark that passage - a tall mile marker flashing by...then gone. We rack these miles up and every once in a while check the life odometer with disbelief...have we travelled SO FAR? And for the children, these markers stretch out in the distance, sometimes reflecting back the faces of who they will become as they rush past. But you have to look quickly...
